Sweet Deviled Baked Chicken

Tender, juicy chicken breasts in a spicy mustard and honey sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup deli style mustard whole grain
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce use your favorite brand
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Rub chicken breasts in olive oil and season both sides with onion powder, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper.
  • Place chicken in the oven and decrease the oven temperature to 375 degrees; Bake for 40 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, combine the ketchup, honey, apple cider vinegar, hot sauce, and deli style mustard; simmer over low heat for five minutes.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in water, stir into sauce, bring to a boil, and stir until thickened; remove from heat and set aside.
  • Brush sauce onto chicken and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
